As the title draws u here with sum conclusion, yes it is about the way we sport.. neccesarily 'we' gets confined to india here.. first i seriously interrogate all with a simple yet befuddling question, do we really sport?? many say 'yes certainly.. we do a great job yaar, c v top d test rankings n bhajji s scoring two centuries n al!!'. Really it is a bitter pill to swallow that 4 most of the indians the term 'sports' had got itself confined to cricket(as same as d way we do 4 cinema)!! n football gets added 4 a creamy layer of people..
with almost the entire india being madly passionate about just 'watching' cricket, it is really a tough job 4 d other undermined counterparts to even survive!! one of the basic flaw with us we always have only a retrospective view regarding sports n we are never prospective! as we just go up in the points table 4m indias position either in the ongoing asiad or in the previous editions of olympics n asiad ( pls dont think about commonwealth shit, xcept an half a dozen of cuoutries we have hardly heard the names of the fellow countries !!) d prominent faces we c are koreas, kenya, zimbabave!!, khazagisthan, ghana!! n d list xtends.. 4m d list of countries i mentioned afore wen we aee with a broader sense we could easily find that they all share sum common attributes..

1. they r nt al better than india either in economy or man power..
2. they lack infrastructure much worser than india !!
3. they dont have any proper institutions ( thank god that we have that to some xtent atleast to create scams periodically !!)
4. their governments are much weaker and corrupted than ours !!
and wat to worry abt it is des are the xact reasons we state 4 sports being not developed in the country !!

I totally agree with Singam on most things he's said.. Guess this is an issue that deals with our natural response.. Let us pot ourselves in a position where one of our close friends or family members excels in a sport like kabaddi.. Like Vijay's dad says in Ghilli, we'd say, "Avan Cricket la oru Sachin aavo, Chess la oru Aanand aavo irundha perumaiyya irundhiruppen!!" Kabaddi is also a recognized sport in some meets!!
ReplyDeletevery good point da singam . . . Everyones very engrossed in the game of cricket rather than other sports . . . Media ppl should deviate attention to other sports too :)
